Translated Abstract

The paper examines in a comparative perspective the still existing and still needed static perception with the interactive views of Jewish tradition. As the paper elaborates the case of newly returned Hungarian Jews baalei teshuva) and their need to return to an „authentic” traditional lifestyle, argues that the tradition consists from various aspects from the concept of what a certain group believes to be „traditional” to the everyday lifestyle that incorporates elements that are labeled as „traditional”, „modern”, „surviving”, „reviv-ing”. However, ultimately the revival of traditional elements serve as future identity framework for new Jewish identities.
