Abstract
Bundesweit nehmen antisemitische Vorfälle im Laufe der vergangenen Jahre deutlich zu. Der Versuch des Attentäters vom 9. Oktober 2019, die Synagoge der jüdischen Gemeinde in Halle/Saale mit Waffen – gewalt zu stürmen und die Mitglieder der Gemeinde zu ermorden, markiert einen traurigen Höhepunkt der antisemitisch motivierten Gewalt. Der Vorfall zeigt: Antisemitismus ist auch mehr als 70 Jahre nach der Ermordung von 6 Millionen Jüdinnen und Juden eine zentrale Herausforderung unserer Gesellschaft.
Das vorliegende zivilgesellschaftliche Lagebild gibt exemplarische Einblicke in unterschiedliche Facetten des Antisemitismus im Bundesland Rheinland-Pfalz. Im Fokus des Lagebildes stehen zivilgesellschaftliche und explizit jüdische Perspektiven auf Antisemitismus – und Forderungen, die sich daraus für den Kampf gegen den erstarkenden Antisemitismus ableiten. Es enthält ausführliche Gesprächen mit Avadislav Avadiev, Vorsitzender des Landesverbands der Jüdischen Gemeinden von Rheinland-Pfalz, und Aharon Ran Vernikovsky, Rabbiner der Jüdischen Gemeinde Mainz.
Das vorliegende zivilgesellschaftliche Lagebild gibt exemplarische Einblicke in unterschiedliche Facetten des Antisemitismus im Bundesland Rheinland-Pfalz. Im Fokus des Lagebildes stehen zivilgesellschaftliche und explizit jüdische Perspektiven auf Antisemitismus – und Forderungen, die sich daraus für den Kampf gegen den erstarkenden Antisemitismus ableiten. Anti-Semitic incidents have increased significantly across the country in recent years. The attacker's attempt on October 9, 2019 to storm the synagogue of the Jewish community in Halle/Saale with armed force and murder the members of the community marks a sad climax of anti-Semitic violence. The incident shows that anti-Semitism is still a central challenge for our society more than 70 years after the murder of 6 million Jews.
This civil society situation report provides exemplary insights into different facets of anti-Semitism in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The focus of the situation report is on civil society and explicitly Jewish perspectives on anti-Semitism - and demands that arise from this for the fight against growing anti-Semitism. It contains extensive conversations with Avadislav Avadiev, Chairman of the State Association of Jewish Communities of Rhineland-Palatinate , and Aharon Ran Vernikovsky, Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Mainz.
