Abstract

This report examines the characteristics of Jewish minority RE in Finnish state schools. The article will first describe the Finnish context for Jewish RE and then the characteristics of monoreligious education. Then the article will analyse the curriculum for Jewish RE in Basic Education by comparing it to the general guidelines for RE using qualitative content analysis. The guiding research questions in this research report are: 1. What are the characteristics of Jewish minority Religious Education in Finnish state schools? 2. What are the differences between the Jewish RE and the general curriculum for RE in Finland?
