Abstract
Dévastée et démantelée par l’occupation nazie, lieu principal de la Catastrophe, la Pologne a un statut particulier pour la mémoire juive et la mémoire de la Shoah. Depuis une quinzaine d’années, un réexamen de cette époque est devenu possible. Avec la démocratie et l’intégration à l’Union européenne, on voit naître un vif intérêt pour cette histoire dans les nouvelles générations et de grands débats publics émergent. La recherche historique est libre, ouverte et riche. La culture et le patrimoine juif sont étudiés et restaurés. Des artistes en interrogent la mémoire. Des festivals, des journaux, des émissions de radio ou de télévision, des programmes éducatifs touchent la jeune génération. Une petite communauté juive reprend vie. Bien entendu, la mémoire du génocide et la responsabilité des témoins sont au cœur des commémorations et des discussions sur ce passé. La Fin de l’innocence entend faire connaître ce travail de la société polonaise sur elle-même et sur son passé. Translated Abstract
Devastated and dismantled by the Nazi occupation, the main site of the Catastrophe, Poland has a special status for the Jewish memory and the memory of the Shoah. For the past fifteen years, a review of this era has become possible. With democracy and integration into the European Union, we see a keen interest in this history in the new generations and great public debates are emerging. Historical research is free, open and rich. Jewish culture and heritage are studied and restored. Artists question its memory. Festivals, newspapers, radio or television broadcasts, educational programs affect the young generation. A small Jewish community comes back to life. Of course, the memory of the genocide and the responsibility of witnesses are at the heart of the commemorations and discussions on this past. The End of Innocence intends to publicize this work of Polish society on itself and on its past. Travel text, built around the evocation of places of memory, text of conversations, which presents portraits interviews of the main actors of this renewal, and text of reflection, this work is in the image of the proliferation and the interrogations that he introduces.
