Abstract: Deutschland und Israel, wie geht das zusammen? Immer wieder ist dies seit 1965, seit der Aufnahme diplomatischer Beziehungen zwischen dem "Land der Dichter und Henker" und dem kleinen, selbstbewussten jüdischen Staat im Nahen Osten, gefragt worden. Es geht erstaunlich gut, bei aller Last der Vergangenheit.
16 deutsche und israelische Autoren geben Auskunft, wie aus zähen Annäherungsprozessen, mutigen Versöhnungsprojekten, pragmatischen Wirtschaftsvereinbarungen und spektakulären Geheimdienstkooperationen gegenseitiges Vertrauen erwuchs.
Israel und Deutschland sind heute wichtige Partner, auf nahezu allen Gebieten, selbst wenn unbewältigter Antisemitismus und ein verhärteter israelisch-palästinensischer Dauerkonflikt das Miteinander immer wieder verunsichern. Auch diese Probleme spart der Band nicht aus.
Abstract: Depuis une vingtaine d années, le CRIF, Conseil représentatif des institutions juives de France, se trouve régulièrement au c ur d une actualité passionnelle et polémique. Qu il s agisse du conflit israélo-arabe, de l antisémitisme, de la politique étrangère française au Moyen-Orient, du communautarisme ou de l histoire et la mémoire de la Shoah, rares sont les débats dont il est absent. Devenu partie intégrante du paysage politique et médiatique français, notamment à travers son célèbre dîner annuel, le CRIF reste pourtant très mal connu. Quelle est son histoire et comment s'inscrit-elle dans les évolutions du judaïsme français ? Qui sont ses dirigeants ? Quels sont ses réels moyens d influence sur les pouvoirs publics ? Quelles sont ses stratégies et ses orientations politiques, sur la scène politique française mais aussi en lien avec Israël ?
En retraçant, à travers ses moments clés, l histoire de cette organisation depuis sa fondation en 1943, ce livre répond à ces questions. Nourrie d archives inédites et de nombreux entretiens, cette histoire du CRIF dessine en creux un portrait fouillé et paradoxal de la France de ces soixante dernières années.
À l heure où le pays s interroge sur la représentation de ses minorités, il n est pas superflu de situer et de comprendre l un de ses exemples les plus emblématiques, entre épouvantail communautariste et « top model » républicain.
Abstract: The purpose of this document is to catalyze a systemic approach in London. Meeting
the challenge of Israel's delegitimization requires a loosely coordinated and orchestrated
response, sometimes even taking a personal or non-public form. Therefore, all parties
will have to leave their comfort zones: Israel will have to let Jewish communities lead
the counter-attack in places, such as London, that require nuance and cultural
sensitivity; and Jewish institutions will have to allow for innovative thinking, new tools,
and aggressive experimentation that usually takes place outside of the established
community. All parties will have to come to terms with the idea that it takes 'all
instruments in the orchestra' to win this fight. Importantly, critics from the political left,
because they represent liberal values, are also an invaluable voice in delegitimizing
Israel's delegitimization, notwithstanding their common criticism of the Jewish
community's traditional institutions and the policies of the State of Israel.
