Abstract
Výzkum antisemitismu není jen reflexí jedné staré zášti. Víme-li, že skrze antisemitismus dochází k promítání vlastních negativních charakterových vlastností na podobiznu „Žida“, pak analýzou této podobizny můžeme zpětně odhalit to, co si naši předkové i současníci přáli ukrýt, spálit a pohřbít. Reflexe antisemitismu tak poskytuje širší kontext pro pochopení pozadí historických událostí či motivů konkrétních aktérů.
Publikace autorského kolektivu Katedry blízkovýchodních studií a Katedry historických věd ZČU v Plzni mapuje nejstarší kořeny protižidovské nenávisti, rasové ideologie a honby za „čistotou krve.“ V dalších kapitolách pak tato kniha poukazuje na úlohu antisemitismu v revolučních proměnách Francie 19. století a problematizuje představu o antisemitismu jakožto „iracionální zášti nevzdělanců“. V českém kontextu se pak autoři ptají, zda lze i v České republice nalézt doklady o spolupráci islamismu s neonacismem. Knihu uzavírá unikátní svědectví pamětnice, která měla možnost poznat každodenní důsledky antisemitismu během druhé světové války a poválečného období.

Research on anti-Semitism is not just a reflection of an old grudge. If we know that through anti-Semitism one's own negative character traits are projected onto the likeness of the "Jew", then by analyzing this likeness we can retrospectively reveal what our ancestors and contemporaries wished to hide, burn and bury. Reflection on anti-Semitism thus provides a broader context for understanding the background of historical events or the motives of specific actors.
The publication by the author collective of the Department of Near Eastern Studies and the Department of Historical Sciences of the ZCU in Pilsen maps the oldest roots of anti-Jewish hatred, racial ideology and the pursuit of "purity of blood." of antisemitism as the "irrational resentment of the uneducated". In the Czech context, the authors then ask whether evidence of cooperation between Islamism and neo-Nazism can also be found in the Czech Republic. The book closes with the unique testimony of an eyewitness who had the opportunity to know the daily consequences of anti-Semitism during the Second World War and the post-war period.
