Berlin ist das erste Bundesland, das ein eigenes Konzept zur Antisemitismusprävention entwickelt hat, das erste Bundesland, das einen Antisemitismusbeauftragten bei der Polizei eingesetzt hat. The condemnation and combating of anti-Semitism is part of the state's reason of state in Germany. Berlin is the first federal state to have developed its own concept for the prevention of anti-Semitism, and the first federal state to have appointed an anti-Semitism commissioner in the police force. A central approach of the Berlin model of combating anti-Semitism is to link state and civil society competencies and to understand the competencies of prevention - intervention - repression as an integral strategy. The volume presents different facets of this area of tension, discusses successes and challenges for the police's handling of anti-Semitism and outlines approaches for the professional training and further education of the police.
