Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the process of rebirth of the contemporary Estonian Jewish community since 1988. The author studies the stages of community institutions’ formation, starting from the Jewish Cultural Society. The issue of the search for identity of community’s members is examined with the special emphasis on disputable problems including country’s language policy and the Holocaust on the territory of Estonia. The research is based on statistical data, publications of local historians and information collected during the visit to Tallinn in November 2016.
