Abstract
Emigration from the Russian Federation to Israel is examined by region of origin and in relation to the socioeconomic situation. Detailed monthly data on migration in the period before and after the financial crash of 1998 are discussed. Finally, the severe vital crisis of Russia’s Jewry and its consequences for the prospects of emigration to Israel are studied.
