Abstract
Die nationalsozialistische Vergangenheit vieler Kulturinstitutionen blieb nach 1945 weitgehend verdrängt, dasselbe gilt für personelle und ideologische Kontinuitäten in der Kunst. In der DDR legitimierte die Selbstsicht als antifaschistischer Staat aggressiven Antizionismus. Trotzdem scheint Antisemitismus in Kunst und Kultur kein Thema zu sein – außer, wenn es um die Zurückweisung sogenannter „Antisemitismusvorwürfe“ geht. Wie aber steht es um Antisemitismus in heutigen künstlerischen und kulturellen Kontexten? In wissenschaftlichen, journalistischen und künstlerischen Texten widmen sich die Autor*innen des Bandes dem Themenfeld Antisemitismus in Kunst und Kultur sowie den Leerstellen in der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Nationalsozialismus in diesem Feld. Literarische Texte geben einen Einblick in die Alltäglichkeit von Antisemitismus, hinterfragen die Erinnerungskultur und verdeutlichen das große Potenzial künstlerischer Zugänge zu diesen Themen.
Translated Abstract
The National Socialist past of many cultural institutions remained largely repressed after 1945, and the same applies to personnel and ideological continuities in art. In the GDR, the self-view as an anti-fascist state legitimized aggressive anti-Zionism. Nevertheless, anti-Semitism does not seem to be an issue in art and culture – except when it comes to rejecting so-called „accusations of anti-Semitism“. But what about anti-Semitism in today's artistic and cultural contexts? In academic, journalistic and artistic texts, the authors of the volume devote themselves to the topic of anti-Semitism in art and culture as well as to the gaps in the discussion of National Socialism in this field. Literary texts provide insight into the everyday nature of anti-Semitism, question the culture of remembrance and highlight the great potential of artistic approaches to these topics.
