Abstract
The study focuses on the Jewish funeral in the contemporary urban environment. First, history of the Bratislava community is described with a special attention paid to the history of the burial society of Chevra Kadisha. Following his research, the author depicts the current state of funerals. His findings are contrasted with the traditional model dating back to the forties of the 20th century, which was recorded by Armin Frieder in his book.
