Socio-cultural identity of young Wrocław Jews
The article is based on research conducted among young people of Jewish origin in Wroclaw. It highlights the importance of objective criteria to assign to the group, such as the origin of the Jewish, attitudes toward Judaism, the State of Israel and Jewish languages: Hebrew and Yiddish. It points to the role of the family and the Jewish community in the process of identity formation. It also stresses the importance of subjective factors of group membership, such as a sense of community and self-identification of the individual.
