Abstract

639 antisemitic incidents were
recorded by CST in 2010. This
is the second-highest annual
total since CST began recording
antisemitic incidents in 1984.
• The total of 639 incidents is
a decrease of 31 per cent from
the 2009 record high of 9261
incidents. The year 2009 saw
a record number of antisemitic
incidents as a consequence
of reactions to the Gaza conflict
at the beginning of that year,
which acted as a ‘trigger event’
affecting the incident totals
for January, February
and March 2009.
• The total of 639 antisemitic
incidents in 2010 is 17 per
cent higher than the 2008
total of 546 incidents, and
continues the long-term trend
of rising antisemitic incident
levels during the past decade
