Abstract
In deze derde rapportage Racisme, antisemitisme en extreemrechts geweld in Nederland zien we een gestage stijging van het aantal racistische incidenten over de jaren heen. Tegelijkertijd blijkt dat de omvang van de extreemrechtse formaties nog altijd op een heel laag niveau zit. Voor dit rapport zijn alle incidenten en aangiftes uit 2013 geanalyseerd en is er ook gekeken naar de verdachten en de afhandeling van de aangiftes. Een nieuw onderdeel in de jaarlijkse rapportage is de koppeling van gerechtelijke gegevens aan politiegegevens. De verschillende typen incidenten worden vergeleken met voorgaande jaren en geïllustreerd met voorbeelden uit de politiepraktijk. Typering van verdachten, proces-verbaal en de afdoening van het Openbaar Ministerie komen per thema aan bod in een hoofdstuk over justitiële afhandeling. Hierbij wordt het gehele traject in beeld gebracht, van incident zoals dat wordt geregistreerd door de politie tot het vonnis door de rechtbank. In this third report, Racism, anti-Semitism and right-wing extremist violence in the Netherlands, we see a steady increase in the number of racist incidents over the years. At the same time, it appears that the size of the right-wing extremist groups is still at a very low level. For this report, all incidents and declarations from 2013 were analyzed and the suspects and the handling of the declarations were also examined. A new component in the annual report is the linking of judicial data to police data. The different types of incidents are compared with previous years and illustrated with examples from the police practice. Characterization of suspects, official reports and the settlement of the Public Prosecution Service are dealt with per theme in a chapter on judicial settlement. The entire process is depicted, from incident as recorded by the police to the verdict by the court. In addition, a number of relevant legal cases are discussed that further illustrate the image that is outlined.
