Abstract
В работе рассматриваются представлении о смерти у евреев Подолии и Бессарабии, традиционная культура кото-рых находится на грани исчезновения. Вы-бор данного региона для полевого исследова-ния, посвященного еврейской традиционной культуре Восточной Европы, обусловлен тем, что здесь сохранилась значительная часть старожильческого еврейского населе-ния, которые помнят довоенное прошлое и являются носителями языка идиш.
Translated Abstract
The paper examines the idea of death among the Jews of Podolia and Bessarabia, whose traditional culture is on the verge of extinction. The choice of this region for a field study dedicated to the Jewish traditional culture of Eastern Europe is due to the fact that a significant part of the old-timer Jewish population has survived here, who remember the pre-war past and are native Yiddish speakers.
