Abstract

The author argues that emotions play a deep role in connecting children to Jewish spiritual life. He states that by using basic emotions to connect to more complex spiritual concepts, it may be possible to bring children into a richer spiritual experience with Judaism. The author includes lessons plans for educators to implement activities involving emotions in different ways. The author concludes by asserting that American Jewish education is reaching a new level of maturity and highlights the importance of sensitizing children to Judaismâ??s view of the world as early as possible.
