Jewish Theology in North America: Notes on Two Decades
Arnold Eisen
American Jewish Committee (AJC)
An overview of the Jewish theology produced in America since 1969 is offered. Although there has been a prodigious amount of religious reflection in America, the theological form known to us from past eras have largely been absent in the U.S., particularly in recent decades. The article also presents an interpretative sketch of the existing literature focusing on covenant theology and confrontation with the Holocaust.
