Abstract
This article presents addresses on the significance and the implication of socio-demographic processes. The first address describes the mixed marriage patterns in the small community of Salta, Argentina; the second deals with the primordial role played by families which make an emotional investment in their children's scholastic success as seen through the experience of the Algerian Jewish families in France; the next address presents findings from the 1981 Greater New York Jewish Population Study, regarding the debate between "Traditionalist" and "Transformationist" observers of the American Jewish community; a fourth article reviews more than 50 studies on the connection between Jewish education and Jewish identification; the fifth article deals with residence as a variable in Jewish community life; the closing article raises some reflections on the aging of the Jewish population and the needs for research on this topic.
