A Defense of Passion

Response: A Contemporary Jewish Review

Response
The author compares the love of God for Israel with the love between two people, and the ways in which humans must strive to imitate that perfect love. She uses this as a microcosm for the challenge, and impossibility, of trying to understand divinity, yet while at the same time emulating it.
