Abstract
Presidents Sarkozy and Obama having been caught on a hot mic calling Benjamin Netanyahu a liar, the American Jewish community has whipped itself into a tempest, demanding apologies not just to Bibi, but somehow, to all of Israel. But Bibi is a liar; all politicians are. Israelis forgive him because at least this liar delivers. Once again, American Jewish organizations have utterly missed the point, managing to imply anti-Israel and antisemitic motivations where nothing but personal and political animus exists.
