Abstract

In recent years, there has been a shift in popular attitudes both within and outside the Jewish community toward a greater acceptance of intermarriage. There are signs that the official stance of Jewish leadership toward intermarriageâ??outrage and outreachâ??may be changing toward a redefinition of it as beneficial and not a danger to be contained. Yet, Jewish leaders must acknowledge intermarriage as a threat to Jewish continuity, identity, and unity.
