Представленное в статье исследование посвящено репрезентации памяти о Холокосте в медиа Центрально-Восточной и Северной Европы во втором десятилетии XXI века (на примере Германии, Австрии, Польши, Литвы, Латвии, Эстонии, Швеции, Дании, Норвегии). В соответствии с гипотезой авторов, в каждом из этих государств существует особая память о Второй мировой войне, которая встраивается в национальные нарративы, но сочетается с глобальной памятью о Холокосте (механизм, ранее описанный Д. Леви и Н. Шнайдером). Сравнение образа Холокоста в различных публикациях СМИ позволило выяснить общие интерпретации и национальную специфику нарратива о трагедии, уточнить его значение для разных социальных групп. Целью исследования стало выявление особенностей сочетания глобальной и локальной памяти о Холокосте в Центрально-Восточной и Северной Европе в 2010-е гг. Источниками исследования являются отобранные по ключевым словам материалы СМИ 2011, 2018 и 2020 гг. Методологическую основу работы составляет концепция «мест памяти» П. Нора и развивающая ее концепция «общих мест памяти» в интерпретации Р. Трабы, через призму которой можно рассматривать память о Холокосте в различных национальных контекстах, а также дискурс-анализ (в соответствии с подходом Э. Лаклау и Ш. Муфф). В результате исследования было определено, что память о Холокосте играет большую роль для национальных нарративов. Она встраивается в цепочки эквивалентности с другими событиями локальной и всемирной истории, сопоставляется с геноцидами других народов. Через дискурс о Холокосте происходит формирование представлений о Второй мировой войне и праворадикальных движениях. При этом в публикациях проявляется и глобальная память о Холокосте, противодействие его релятивизации. Эта последняя тенденция связана прежде всего с деятельностью переживших Холокост граждан самих рассматриваемых в работе стран.
Translated Abstract
The collective research deals with the representation of the Holocaust memory in the media of Central-Eastern and Northern Europe in the second decade of the XXI century on the example of Germany, Austria, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Each of these states, the article argues, is characterized by its own distinct memory of the Second World War, embedded in a national narrative, but also combined with the global significance of the Holocaust (as proposed in earlier research by D. Levy and N. Sznaider). Comparing the image of the Holocaust in such sources as media publications could determine the general interpretation and national specifics of the tragedy’s narrative, as well as clarify its significance for various social groups. The research objective is to identify the peculiarities of the combination of global and local Holocaust memories in Central-Eastern and Northern Europe in the 2010s. The sources of the study were articles in the most widespread media in the countries, selected by keywords in 2011, 2018 and 2020. The methodological basis of the work is the concept of “«Lieux de Mémoire”» by P. Nora and its development – “«common Lieux de Mémoire”» in the interpretation of R. Traba. Through the prism of these concepts, the memory of the Holocaust can be considered in various national contexts, as well as through discourse analysis in accordance with the approach of E. Laclau and S. Mouffe. The research concludes that the Holocaust memory plays a noticeably large role in national narratives. The Holocaust memory is embedded in chains of equivalence with other events of local and world history, and compared to genocides of other peoples. The discourse on the Holocaust impacts the formation of ideas on the Second World War and right-wing radical movements. At the same time, the publications also reflect the global memory of the Holocaust and the opposition to its relativization. This tendency is associated with the activities of the Holocaust survivors among the citizens of the countries surveyed in the study.
