Abstract:
Reports on the development of Jewish life in Eastern and Central Europe following liberalization. Covers seven countries using specialists and reports on similar patterns: revival of Jewish cultural life, people who had denied their origins now identifying as Jews, young people discovering Jewish identity, ousting of communist era Jewish leaders, increased desire to participate in European and international Jewish activities.
