Abstract: Antisemitismus ist in Europa auf dem Vormarsch. Der menschenverachtende Hamas-Überfall vom 7. Oktober 2023 auf israelische Zivilist:innen hat wie ein Katalysator für Judenhass gewirkt. Der Konflikt im Nahen und Mittleren Osten kann möglicherweise dauerhaft eskalieren. Dadurch wird der Antisemitismus auch in Europa stärker. Der Band zielt aus diesem Grund auf die neuen ideologischen Dynamiken, die sich in den neuen virtuellen Räumen intensivieren. Die Beiträge vermitteln ein tieferes Verständnis dessen, was wir heute angehen müssen: Die Vektoren des neuen Antisemitismus – Holocaust-Leugnung, der Antisemitismus der extremen Linken, Antisemitismus in der islamischen Welt, Antizionismus als Antisemitismus, sogar Antirassismus als Antisemitismus – haben allesamt eine lange Geschichte. Was sich geändert hat, sind die Informationstechnologien und der geopolitische Kontext, in dem auch Israelkritik grassiert.

Abstract: Due to the (current) sharp rise in anti-Semitic attacks and crimes, particularly following the Hamas terror attack against Israel, the EICTP has set itself the task of analyzing and assessing this phenomenon on an international comparative basis. Anti-Semitism poses a threat to our liberal society and must be vigorously combated, regardless of ideology, political convictions or religious beliefs. The virtual dimension on the internet and via social media in particular has taken on a new dynamic, as can be seen from several contributions in the study. It should therefore be a national and international priority to take rigorous legal measures against all forms of anti-Semitism, but also to develop and rapidly implement effective prevention programs.
