Abstract: The author considers the pros and cons of the investigation of society by holding surveys of Internet sites or by content analysis of Internet resources (which could be called investigation of the society traces in the World Wide Web). He classifies Internet dating sites based on different parameters: the way of data access, the level and form of payment, the target group. The article views Internet dating sites positioned as Jewish. Some of the latest are sites of dating service and of shadchens, but in most Internet dating sites (and all the major ones) personal contacts with the management are not necessary. The work studies ways of submitting information about the ethnic origin of visitors of the a.m. Internet dating sites and their conception of Judaism.
