Данное исследование фокусируется на теории С. Корнелла о «наполнении» этнической идентичности и «измерениях», которые ее составляют. Статья фокусируется на институциональном «измерении» и на основе этнографических данных, собранных в процессе реализации студенческого исследовательского проекта «Поля сакрального и религиозного в городском пространстве» (НИУ ВШЭ — Санкт-Петербург, 2025), предполагает, что не только общность, но и разобщенность институтов может служить «наполнением» коллективной

This study focuses on S. Cornell’s theory of the «content» of ethnic identity and the «dimensions» that constitute it. The article specifically examines the institutional «dimension» and, based on ethnographic data collected during the realization of the student research project «Fields of the Sacred and Religious in Urban Space» (Higher
School of Economics — St. Petersburg, 2025), suggests that not only the unity, but also the disunity of institutions can serve as «content» for the collective ethnic identity of young Jews. To this end, the author introduces the concept of the «institution of Jewishness», which is neo-institutional in its nature, and within this framework demonstrates the potential institutional disunity among Jewish youth in St. Petersburg. The study utilizes observational data gathered during visits to events at four Jewish community centers in St. Petersburg and interviews conducted with young Jews in thecity. The author proposes an expansion of Cornell’s theory.
