Abstract
Židovská menšina na Slovensku se během posledních desetiletí velmi změnila. Tento článek analyzuje, jakým způsobem se židovská identita uchovává a jak se změnila po holocaustu. Autorka definuje židovskou identitu na dvou úrovních. Pozitivní úroveň obsahuje čtyři aspekty: etnický, náboženský, sociální a kulturní. Negativní aspekt odkazuje k antisemitismu a holocaustu. Tato studie se zaměřuje na proměňující se roli těchto aspektů u čtyř poválečných generací Židů na Slovensku. Opírá se o dostupnou vědeckou literaturu a výzkumy na podobná témata. K prohloubení analýzy jí slouží několik ilustračních rozhovorů.
Translated Abstract
Jewish minority in Slovakia has changed much during the last decades. This article analyses how Jewish identity sustained and how it had changed after the holocaust. The author defines Jewish identity on two levels. The positive level contains four aspects: ethnic, religious, social and cultural. The negative aspect results of the consequences of anti-Semitism and post-holocaust trauma. This study focuses on the changing role of these particular aspects in four post-war generations of Jews in Slovakia. Each generation had been influenced by different political events and had lived in different political and historical context. For its characterization the study is based on scientific literature and surveys on similar topics. For a deeper analysis several illustration interviews were conducted with parents of children up to the age of six years and representatives of Jewish institutions in Slovakia. The study focuses on the trend after the Velvet Revolution in 1989 and the process of “coming back to the forgotten identity”. The conclusion contents interpretations of Jewish identity today and of the reasons for its maintaining and its reestablishment.
